St Lads Cash (Sunfire Blue Chip) pulled out a crushing harness racing performance for his first win since January in the Preferred at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Monday (Mar. 27).

The gelding fell in behind Sportsline (Scott Wray), who used his pylon positioning to push through to the front and provided fractions of :28.1 and :58.1. St Lads Cash popped the pocket approaching three-quarters and easily overpowered the pacesetter, going by in a flash with no encouragement needed from driver Tyler Moore.

St Lads Cash rolled through three-quarters in 1:27 while taking the lead and jogged to victory from there. He turned for home up by two and ran up the score to six lengths by the time he reached home in 1:55.3.

Sportsline proved second-best. Prestige Seelster (Tyler Borth) finished third.

ST LADS CASH REPLAY

St Lads Cash had previously lost nine straight but was in good from, hitting the board in his past three starts. He is now 20-for-153 lifetime with $190,881 in the bank. Michelle Leblanc of Guelph owns and trains the seven-year-old.

Borth missed out on the feature but compiled four wins on the evening.

The Raceway at the Western Fair District will race next on Tuesday, Mar. 28. A Preferred Trot highlights the 10-race card beginning at 5:50 p.m. EDT.
