Tisbury harness racing trainer Kirstin Green has good numbers and strong chances for the Wairio Trotting Club meeting at Winton tomorrow (Mar. 30).
In Race Three quality filly Carrera Sunset (Downbytheseaside) was a credible fourth on debut against a strong group of fillies and from gate three looks a strong chance.
āSheās a really nice filly but obviously sheās still a bit green. If she gets to the top she should go close. I think sheās got a big future so weāre just taking baby steps. Sheās my best bet,ā Green said.Ā
Six year old Wonthavtime (Heās Watching) also gets a handy draw in Race Four and this will be his third run back from a break.
āHeāll go forward this week. It was a much better run on the grass the other day. Itās taken him a wee bit of time to get back to race fitness after a long time out. I think he could be a top four chance.ā
In Race Six, Green lines up Betting Sensation (Betting Line) who has excellent form and her last start fifth was against a better quality field.
āShe went really well last start against the top fillies in Southland. From the draw sheās probably going to have to go back. I think she should be able to get a wee bit (stake) at the end.āĀ
Maverick Star (Bettorās Delight) has plenty of pedigree to like and from just three starts his form is slowly building.
āHe hasnāt had much luck and he keeps on coming up against the good three year olds that are heading for the Southern Supremacy Stakes. A winās knocking but there might be a couple in there this week that are a wee bit stronger.ā
Last start winner Wattlebank Arnie (Bettorās Delight) has a second line draw to contend with and a large field with plenty of exposed form.
āHeās come though that race super and seems to be back to where he was before. Once again itās a very ordinary draw in a big field so heāll need some luck but if he gets a good drag up heās always a show.āĀ
Green has two runners in the last race: Heās A Meister (Heās Watching) and Bobbies Rock (A Rocknroll Dance).
Both have good front line draws with Heās A Meister drawing two. Heāll be driven by Green.
āHeās just racing super without a lot of luck. He doesnāt have a lot of gate speed but hopefully we can spark him up a bit more so he can get out of the gate a bit better. Heās always a good show for a first three finish.ā
Bobbies Rock has drawn one marble outside of his stable mate and showed plenty of courage when winning his last start on the grass at Wingatui.Ā
āHeās probably not at the same level as Heās A Meister at the moment but you canāt fault him. Heās only had seven starts for two wins. He loves a wet track so if the weather packs in heāll be one to back for a place. Iād probably watch him in the grade for the first couple of times.āĀ
Quality fields have been carded right across the day with the first of nine races getting underway at 1.30pm.
