Tony Le Beller teamed 8/1 odds Echo de Chanlecy (9g Quinoa du Gers-Nina d’Erzy) to a rallying victory in today’s (April 5) Gr. III Grand Prix Angers Loire Metropole (purse 64,000€, 3100 meters distance handicap for International 6–10-year-olds) timed in 1.13.0kr as he overcame a 25-meter handicap at Angers in France.

Halicia Bella (6f Bold Eagle-Talicia Bella) was second as the 2.3/1 favorite with Antoine Wiels driving for owner/trainer J.P. Marmion. Third was the 4.9/1 odds and 50 meter handicapped Happy Valley (6f Royal Dream-Mysterious Valley) reined by Jean Philippe Dubois for his Ecurie
Dreams and trainer Philippe Moulin. Fakir du Lorault was fourth at 22/1 and 13/1 Doux Parfum was fifth. Earl Simon and Granvillaise Bleue were unplaced.
In a separate note it was announced that the 2022 Amerique winner Davidson du Pont (10m Pacha du Pont) has been retired. The 17-time career winner of 2,274,710€ also won the Prix de France, Prix du Selection and Criterium de 5 Ans under the Bazire stable management for owner J.Y, Rayon and Company. It was also announced that the superb mare Decoloration (10f Prince d’Espace-Maradadi Buissonay) has been retired and will be bred to Boccador de Simm, a highly productive young stallion. Decoloration earned 705,460€ from 19 victories and a speed badge of 1.10.0kr. Her last major win was in July 2022 with the Prix de la Manche.
On April 8 will be the Gr. II Prix Kerjacques at Paris-Vincennes. The 2700 meter event has Eliloppet 2023 invite Etonnant plus Delia du Pommereux and Gently de Muze among the 16 entrants.
