LEBANON, OH – Miami Valley Raceway, already boasting one of the highest overnight purse structures in the harness racing industry, is proud to announce a 20% across-the-board purse increase, effective Sunday (April 16) and through the end of the meet on May 6.
The estimated average nightly purses will increase from $191,000 to $229,200 per day. Online condition sheets have already been updated reflecting the higher purses.
Miami Valley races on a Sunday through Thursday five days a week schedule. Regular post time is 4 p.m. The only exception will be the final two days of the 2023 meet, with no Thursday (May 4) racing, but a special make up card scheduled for Friday (May 5).
Post time on closing day Saturday, May 6 (Kentucky Derby Day) will be noon.
There is plenty of racing action in the final three weeks of the meet. Eliminations for The James K. Hackett Memorials, in four separate divisions for Ohio-sired three-year-old colts and fillies on the trot and pace, kick off on Monday (April 17) through Thursday (April 20). The $50,000 finals race a week later.
First leg action in the Buckeye Stallion Series for sophomore trotters and pacers is up next; then culminating with the first leg of all four three-year-old Ohio Sires Stakes races on May 6.
