Down Under Winners from North America – 25th April

A win in the final leg of the Borgata Pacing Series at Yonkers Raceway on Monday night (April 17) vaulted the Victorian bred Idealsomemagic (American Ideal) to the top of the point score leaderboard for the harness racing series.

The gelding came from second last to defeat Funatthebeach NZ by a head in 1:51.6 

Idealsomemagic, a winner of 19 races and $US283,317, will be among the top fancies for the $US511,000 final to be held on Monday (April 24). 

Maczaffair, a NZ bred daughter of Mach Three, led throughout in 1:54.2 in the $18,200 Fillies and Mares Open at Saratoga Raceway on Tuesday (April 18). 

The nine-year-old scored by 4-1/2 lengths in winning for the fourth time from seven starts this year. 

Patrickthepiranha, a Western Australian bred gelding by Four Starzzz Shark, bounced back into the winning list after an almost three months sojourn when he claimed the $25,000 feature in 1:51.6 at Plainridge Park on Thursday (April 20). 

It was his 13th North American success.  

The Somebeachsomewhere mare Off N Gone NZ captured her second straight $36,000 Mares Open at Miami Valley Raceway on Thursday (April 20). After settling down in fifth position, the mare gradually wore down her rivals to win in 1:51.4. 

Uncle Jord, a Rock N Heaven gelding, lifted his stake tally to almost $US250,000 when he captured the $17,000 Open at Saratoga Raceway on Saturday (April 22). The seven-year-old led for the last three quarters in 1:54.8. 

Meanwhile, The Bird Dance, a NZ bred son of A Rocknroll Dance, led from end-to-end in 1:57 in an elimination of the Spring Fling series at Cumberland Raceway on Saturday (April 22).
