East Rutherford, NJ – Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment’s Championship Meet kicks off Friday, May 5. That date also spells the opening of Victory Terrace and the Backyard for the Spring/Summer harness racing season.
Victory Terrace, the sprawling outdoor rooftop lounge, offers spectacular views of the live harness racing action and the New York City skyline. Every Friday is Latin Night with a DJ spinning the latest hits and on Saturday dance the night away to today’s Top 40.
Guests can enjoy a full bar and grill service with varying food and drink specials.
The Backyard BBQ & Grill and Backyard Bar also open for the season on May 5. While watching the world’s greatest harness racing on the track, fans can grab some delicious pulled pork, BBQ brisket and mac & cheese from the Grill and thirst-quenching cocktails and beer from the Backyard Bar.
New for 2023 is the “Sloppy Track Stack Food Challenge.” This BBQ challenge requires eaters to chow down on 1lb of brisket, 1lb of pulled pork, 1lb of mac and cheese, 1lb of fries which is all topped with bacon, 1lb of coleslaw and BBQ sauce. Diners will have 30 minutes to complete this one-person challenge. If they defeat it, they win a winner’s circle presentation, their picture on PlayMeadowlands.com and Backyard BBQ trailer and free t-shirt. If they fail to clean their plate, the diner must pay for the meal which costs $55.
