Like Chaos (Lookslikeachpndale), who won the Ontario-sired Spring Series, jogged to a double-digit-length harness racing victory in the City of London Series first leg second division for trotting males.
The gelding interited the lead on the second turn and waved goodbye to the rest of the field. He flew home for Bruce Richardson with a graceful trot, cruising to the finish with a 13-and-a-quarter-length margin in 1:57.2. P C Mercury Rising (Curtis Clements) rallied late to take the place spot. Warrawee Yuri (Mario Baillargeon) passed Wolinak (Keith Jones) on the line for third.
LIKE CHAOS REPLAY
Like Chaos has won all five of his career tallies this season, including a victory in the Ontario-sired Spring Series final. Richardson owns and trains the gelding in partnership with Joseph Coffey of Orangeville. Like Chaos has earned $64,000 in 17 outings for them.
Oceanview Massey (Muscle Mass, Tyler Borth) wired the field in 1:58.1 in the other division. He won going away from place finisher Sunglassesatnight (Scott Coulter). Hamilton De Vie (Jason Ryan) was third-best.
OCEANVIEW MASSEY REPLAY
It was the third career win for Oceanview Massey in 11 starts. He has earned $21,156 and won a leg of the Prospect Series at two. Jones trains the gelding for Douglas McCarthy of Holland Landing.
Savannahs Dream (Archangel, Richardson) broke her maiden in her 19th lifetime start in the first division of the first leg for trotting fillies and mares. She glided to the front with only two on-gait foes to her inside, and the filly went coast-to-coast in 2:02.3. Champagne Bettina (Scott Young) challenged the winner through the final three-eighths and came home second by a length. Angelic Kt (Anthony Haughan) was third.
SAVANNAHS DREAM REPLAY
Savannahs Dream had not won in her first 18 career starts but has now earned $18,364. Richardson trains and co-owns the filly with Coffey and Peter Irwin of Ayton.
Cash Deals (Wheeling N Dealin, Baillargeon) took the final City of London Series dash of the night, getting home in 2:00.3 after taking a big lead. Second-place finisher April Duford (Borth) cut down the gap to a length-and-a-quarter. Hall N Hill (Paul Mackenzie) finished third as the last horse to stay on stride.
CASH DEALS REPLAY
Cash Deals has won three races in a row and now holds a record of four-for-11 lifetime and has $21,860 in her coffers. Baillargeon trains the filly for The Stableās Cash Deals Group.
The second leg for the pacers is set for Wednesday, May 17; the trotters will go again on May 19. The finals will be part of the Camluck Classic night undercard on May 26.
