Jericho Willie (Rock N Roll Heaven) and driver Frank Affrunti and Workout Girl (Donato Hanover) with driver Dylan Huckabone Miller) won the harness racing co-features at Vernon Downs on Friday (June 2).
Jericho Willie ($7.90) captured the $6,500 pace.

Jericho Willie went to the front, but Treacherous Tom (Chris Long) took the lead just before hitting the quarter first in :27. He used a :28.4 second quarter to be first to the half in :55.4. He continued to show the way and led to three-quarters in 1:24.3.
As they made the turn for home Jericho Willie popped the pocket and charged for the lead. Maximum Ideal (Dylan Huckabone-Miller) and Le Massif (Steeven Genois) came flying late but Jericho Willie was too tough and won in 1:52.3. Maximum Ideal was second with Le Massif collecting third money.
Jericho Willie is a 7-year-old gelding trained by Misty Carey for owners Michael Kessler and Speed To Burn Racing. It was his second win this season and the 26th win of his career.

Workout Girl ($2.80) took the $6,500 trot.

Valottalove (John MacDonald) and Workout Girl battled for the lead early with Workout Girl clearing the lead just before hitting the quarter first in :27.3. She would slow things down with a :30 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.3. She would then cruise to three-quarters in 1:27.1.
As they reached the stretch Workout Girl was still firmly in the lead. Valottalove came all out late but had to settle for second as Workout Girl equaled her lifetime best of 1:55.3. Bet Big On Blue (Steeven Genois) was third.
Workout Girl is a 4-year-old mare owned by James Crawford IV and trained by Claude Huckabone III. It was her fourth win this season. She now owns eight career victories.
