Harness racing hits Invercargill again today with nine races on the card. The racing starts at 11:45am and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Bet:  R2   Maverick Star

Best Value:  R1   Rebecca Dale

Race 1

Rebecca Dale (6) Ok at latest trials and weaker field here. Could surprise in fresh condition
Better Be Watching (5) Hasn’t had a lot of luck at times but getting better with racing. Needed
Chemmy (8) Drawn wide but can sneak into the placings with luck in running. Include

Race 2

Maverick Star (2) Has been racing better fields than what he meets here. Top selection in this
Naledi (4) One paced but has claims if the pace is solid through out. Place chances look best
Robyns Art (7) Not far away in his races so far. Conditions suit and has top three claims

Race 3

Del’s Creation (9) Getting better with racing but manners still an issue. Up to winning this with luck
Rewiri Hill (10) Will need to step cleanly but has speed. One of the better chances in this
Hail Stone (2) Has come a long way for this and ok run at Timaru. Not the worst in this field

Race 4

Ellz Angel (9) Should get a cosy run ono the pegs and big threat with gaps. Top selection here
Robyns Shadow (4) Drawn well and likely leader early. At his best would go close here
I’m Watching You (3) Out of form but honest and can run top three with the right trip

Race 5

Gift Card (6) Good run in a harder field last start. Should be thereabouts in this field
Son Of Majestic (4) Has to be respected with his recent form. One fo the major players
Abacardi Hazel (1) Win chance if she goes forward early from the ace draw. Can win

Race 6

Ideal Double (8) Wide draw but has gate speed. Good winning chance if she races near the speed
Jenny Gump (4) Has gate speed and should fire to the front early. Top three chance from the draw
Millwood Indie (7) Canterbury horses do well here. Needs luck from the wide draw but can win

Race 7

Miss Jessica (3) Good draw and will run along. Winning claims with no attackers mid race
Galleons Future (4) Likely to go forward early. Stronger field to contend with but can place
Johns Boy (5) Good beginner and although up in grade can still compete here. Include

Race 8

Jordy (5) In good form and can go on with it. Strong field but has to be respected here. Include
Castelo De Vide (1) Better last start and draw suits plus driver change. Can surprise at longer odds
Brookies Player (6) Can not ignore the form line. Very consistent and can run top three again

Race 9

El Sirrar (5) Building up a good formline. Even field but looks capable of filling a placing again
Cast A Shadow (2) In winning form but reliable and a win chance again if the pace is on in this
Whata Razzle Dazzle (9) Out of form but strikes a weaker field here. One for longer odds
