Duly Resolved (Resolve), an Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) harness racing star at two and three, put an end to his four-year-old slump on Monday (Jun. 5) by winning the Preferred-2 Trot at Grand River Raceway.
He made no attempt to defend the rail and let four by going to the quarter in :28.4. He closed from a gapped-off fifth to catch the cover of Arrakis (Tyler Moore) approaching the half in :58.2.
Paul Mackenzie pulled the trigger to tip Duly Resolved three-wide down the backstretch, and he circled Arrakis to take the first-over duties going to three-quarters in 1:28.1. Leader Sicario (Travis Cullen) provided stiff resistance in the final quarter, but Duly Resolved trotted by in the final metres to win by a head in 1:57.3.
Power And Grace (Brett MacDonald) was two lengths behind in third.

Duly Resolved has earned $848,872 and won eight times on 34 starts. He was without victory in seven prior starts this season after competing in several major stakes events at three and winning an OSS Gold. Matt Bax trains the four-year-old for Bax Stable of Campbellville, David Hudon of Dallas, Don Allensen of Wyoming, and Gaelic Stable of Sharon.
Bolt Power (Bolt The Duer) struck from the passing lane at 19-1 to upset in the Preferred-2 Pace. The gelding sat behind a contested lead through the back half and fired by the tiring leaders at the pylons to take the co-feature in 1:53.4. Magical Arthur (J. Bradley Harris) led much of the way and finished second. Respect Our Flag (Cullen) closed for third.
BOLT POWER REPLAY
Bolt Power had finished fourth from the pocket in the prior weekās Preferred but won two back at an upper-level London condition. The gelding, who was making his first start for trainer Marielle Enberg, earned his 12th lifetime win and bumped his earnings up to $145,261 in his 53rd try. BrendaĀ Derible of Elmwood owns the five-year-old.
