SUMMERSIDE, PE – Middleton Terror (Stonebridge Terror) will headline the Tuesday evening (Jun. 13) harness racing program at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
In line to David Dowling, Middleton Terror is the top choice in the race 10 Preferred 2 Pace for a $3,600 purse on the 11-dash Tuesday evening card starting off at 6 P.M.
Dowling trains the 12-time winner for owners Frank Balcom of Amherst, N.S., and Kingsley Walsh of Albany, with post 5 Tuesday. The pacer had been racing the Preferred class at Red Shores Charlottetown with four wins and four seconds from eight starts in 2023.
Mantario (Sportswriter) captured the Red Shores Summerside top class last week and gets saddled with post 8 Tuesday with Jason Hughes getting the driving assignment for trainer Jennifer Doyle. Atlantic Sires Stakes graduate Stash It Away (Pang Shui) has post 6 for his seasonal debut from the Kevin MacLean barn with John Davidson in the driver’s seat.
Rail control belongs to Woodmere Ideal Art (Articulator, To be driven by Dale Spence) for trainer Sifroi Melanson with Moonwriter (Sportswriter, Ken Murphy) holding down post 2 from the Colin Johnson barn. Murphy is currently in a tie for top driver with Corey MacPherson at the Prince County oval at six wins in 2023.
MacPherson will drive Soccer Hanover (Dragon Again), a winner of this class on May 22, from post 3 for trainer Leith Waite. Navalny was victorious in his lone start of the 2023 Summer Meet and gets post 4 Tuesday for the team of driver Adam Merner and trainer Melissa Rennie. Post 7 has Sauble Attack (Devon Wallace) for trainer Paul Biggar.
The Backstretch Beat sees Middleton Terror as the major player in the Tuesday Preferred 2 Pace. “Middleton Terror has been racing the finest pacers on the Eastern Seaboard and beating most of them with a win and three seconds since the meet began. He is not one to be ignored in any class.”
The $3,000 back-up class in race 8 has Mr Rielly favoured from post 5 for trainer-driver MacPherson and owners Jim Gorman of South Melville and Darlene Compton of South Pinette. The Steelhead Hanover’s pacer has five rivals including Dylan Sam (Murphy) and Winter Blast (Hughes).
