Stewardoftheland cruises to an easy win

Stewardoftheland (Huntsville) and harness racing driver Frank Affrunti cruised to an easy win in the $6,500 featured pace on Sunday (June 18) at Vernon Downs.

Stewardoftheland ($3.70) blasted out of the gate and flew to the first quarter in :25.4.  He went :28.1 for the second quarter and was first to the half in :54.0.  He was first to three-quarters in 1:22.0.

As they reached the stretch second place finisher Gunpowder N (Jimmy Whittemore) gave it a late try but fell short of Stewardoftheland who won in a lifetime best of 1:50.4.  Le Massif (Steeven Genois) finished third.

Stewardoftheland is a 4-year-old gelding by Huntsville.  He is owned and trained by David Koslowsky.  It was his third win this season.  He now has seven career victories.
