Duchess Of Brant (Big Jim) has emerged as a new mare at four, taking her fourth win in five harness racing starts on Monday (Jun. 19) at Grand River Raceway after going 0-for-16 at three.
She took command for Travis Henry going to the half and commanded the race to the finish, quickly dismissing the first-over challenge of Lady In Lace (Brett MacDonald). Duchess Of Brant turned for home more than two lengths clear and completed the victory a length-and-a-quarter ahead of Hayek Hanover (Anthony Haughan) in 1:57.
DUCHESS OF BRANT REPLAY
It was also a new lifetime mark for Duchess Of Brant, who is now on a three-race winning streak. Her turnaround this year has been for new trainer Kristopher Haskell, who was chosen by Brooke Marks of Lucknow after purchasing the mare on Apr. 15. Duchess Of Brant is now four-for-21 lifetime and has earned $24,171.
Grand River Raceway resumes action on Wednesday, Jun. 21 at 6:30 p.m. EDT.
