Harness Analyst – Yonkers Raceway 23rd June

There are two eliminations for the first leg of the harness racing trotting Triple Crown tonight at MGM Yonkers Raceway. They are seven-horse fields in races 6 and 7 and the top four from each of thise races makes the final next week.

Here are my selections and multi-race tickets for the entire 12-race card.

BEST BET: (4) DRAMA ACT – Race 10

SPOT PLAY: (2) TONYS MOM – Race 3

50-Cent Pick 5 – Race 5 – 1,3,4/1,3,4/1/1,2,3/4,6 = $27

$1 Pick 4 – Race 9 – 4,6/4/1,2,5/1,5,7 = $18

Race 1 – 1-2-6-4

The card kicks off with the first elimination of the Park MGM Filly Pace and (1) EARTHWINDFIRE will likely get sent to the top by Tetrick immediately and control the race.

Race 2 – 1-3-2-4

The two mares dropping out of a Grand Circuit race should battle for the win here. (1) UCANDOIT BLUE CHIP gets top billing based on post position advantage.

Race 3 – 2-1-4-5

(2) TONYS MOM gets post relief here after drawing poorly for four straight starts. Picking up driver Andrew McCarthy won’t hurt, either.

Race 4 – 3-4-2-1

(3) ZIGGY SKY was involved in a wild pace duel last time and she did well to be beaten less than four lengths. I’ll take a price stab with her here.

Race 5 – 1-3-4-2

This race kicks off the Pick 5 which has a 50-cent base. (1) TRAFALGAR shows a stale date, but she debuts for the Burke brigade coming in off a race where she almost knocked off the best 3YO pacing filly on the planet. I’ll chance that she is sharp enough.

Race 6 – 4-3-1-6

This is the first elimination for the Yonkers Trot, with the first four finishers advancing to next week’s final. (4) UP YOUR DEO made two moves in the New Jersey Sires Stakes final in a good effort, and he should handle these if the intent is there.

Race 7 – 1-4-5-7

Second elimination of the Yonkers Trot. (1) KIERKEGAARD K is better and faster at three and he controls this race from the rail.

Race 8 – 1-3-2-4

(1) LOVE THE BLUES N got a clean line and a tightener from a bad post in the top class at Monticello which should set her up for a big speed try from the rail tonight.

Race 9 – 6-4-1-3

(6) GOTTHEGREENLIGHT faces easier, and she gets Dunn in the bike tonight. I’ll give her a slight nod starting from a wide post.

Race 10 – 4-1-2-7

(4) DRAMA ACT got picked off right on the line despite pacing a 27-flat kicker last week. The rival that sat the perfect trip and nailed her gets assigned the widest post now, so a repeat of that trip is very unlikely. This mare will be a Pick 4 single for me.

Race 11- 2-5-1-7

(2) STATEMENT MADE A just won from post 7 now he moves inside. He has a good chance to repeat here.

Race 12 – 5-1-7-6

(5) LYONS JOHNNY JNR looks solid here racing off the claim and picking up the leading driver.
