Give Little Rocket Man (Rockin Image) some live cover and he will give you an easy harness racing victory and that’s just what happened Saturday (June 24) night in the $37,000 Invitational Pace at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
The 10th race feature saw millionaire and race favorite Charlie May leave from post five for driver Brett Miller to take control of the lead with Chase H Hanover (Tyler Smith) sitting the pocket-trip to the first quarter in :26.2.
Then it was Bernie (Austin Hanners) coming first-over before the half mile with Little Rocket Man (Jeremy Smith) grabbing the second-over live cover. They passed the half mile in :55.2.
In the backstretch, Bernie was still first-over but could not gain any ground on Charlie May. At the three-quarters in 1:22, Smith moved with Little Rocket Man and by the top of the stretch they were nose to nose with Charlie May.
Then in the stretch drive, Little Rocket Man just scooted away from the field to win by two and one-quarter lengths in 1:49.1. Charlie May was second with Let It Ride N (Dan Noble) third.
LITTLE ROCKET MAN REPLAY
It was the second straight win and tenth triumph in thirteen starts this year for Little Rocket Man. The seven-year-old gelding is trained by Ken Rucker for owners Russell Beerman and Jack Freeman. He paid $5.00 to win. It was his 47th career victory.
