Grove City, OH – Eldorado Northfield Park hosted two $55,000 divisions of the Ohio Sire Stakes for three-year-old harness racing pacing fillies Saturday (June 24) and to no one’s surprise, both divisions were captured by daughters of Downbytheseaside.
McSeaside (Downbytheseaside) became the victor in the second division of the Ohio Sires Stakes for three-year-old filly pacers.
When the gate sung open Cruise Alert made an early break before the first turn, but Angel Hill (Ebersole) made her way to the front as Fear of Sports (Wrenn, Jr.) followed behind in second, and in third was Seaside Tina (Lems), and sitting patiently fourth was Mcseaside (Page).
The field was in straight alignment till they reached the backstretch as McSeaside moved first over from fourth, passing the three quarters in 1:21.2. Fear of Sports moved out from the pocket to go after the trailblazer, Angel Hill, as they made the final turn and were on their way home. McSeaside went three wide pacing right on by her competitors in 1:50.2.
Chris Page had the lines for trainer Ron Burke. The filly has won two out of three legs on the Ohio Sires Stakes bankrolling $90,000 so far this season.
MCSEASIDE REPLAY
The fastest division of the night was the first division with Hey Hey Mama (Downbytheseaside) taking the front and never looking back capturing the race in 1:49.3, a new lifetime mark for the filly. Ronnie Wrenn Jr. was at the controls for trainer Brian Brown. The filly made it her sixth win out of eight starts netting $88,500 so far this season for ownership group Country Club Acres, Milton J Leeman, Joe Sbrocco, and Acadia Farms.
