Ocean Downs hosted the Maryland Sire Stakes 4- & 5-Year-Old Open Pace on Wednesday July 5th before a great vacationing harness racing crowd.
The $25,300 event went to post as race 1 with a trio of āOpenā class pacers behind the gate, Stunnerās Wish (Rustyās For Real) the spring winner, Sea Ya Mystery (Rustyās For Real) the 2022 winner and Anthonyās All In (Rustyās All In) the place horse in the spring.
Stunnerās Wish controlled the front half in 56.2 with Anthonyās All In sticking a nose in front at the Ā¾ pole call in 1:25. Stunnerās Wish fought back to shatter the MSS aged gelding record, set in 2020 by Allieās Finale, by 2 full seconds, stopping the timer in 1:53.2. Anthonyās All in took the place spot pacing in 1:53.3 with Sea Ya Mystery also pacing in 1:53.3.
Anthony Morgan piloted the winner for trainer Tim Crissman and owners Crissman Inc.
Three-year-old Maryland Sire Stakes action resumes on Monday July 10.
