Django du Bocage triumphs in Enghien feature

Today’s (July 12) Enghien-Soisy featured the Prix Jean Paul Fairand (purse 90,000€, 2875 meters, monte 6–10-year-olds, apprentice lad jockeys) saw 8.3/1 odds Django du Bocage (10g Real de Lou-Plume Bleue-Goetmals Wood) secure victory timed in 1.12.8kr with jockey Estelle Croisic.

The Stephane Meinier trainee is owned by Ludovic Ghigo and he won for the 18^th time in 101 starts for 525,450€ in life earnings. The 7.8/1 Happy And Lucky (6f Ready Cash-Tosalima-Coktail Jet) was second for Thais Peltier and trainer Franck Leblanc. Fougue du Dollar (8f Up And Quick-Magalie du Doll) took third for jockey Marine Beudard and trainer Sylvain Roger at 7.3/1 odds.

On the undercard was the Prix de L’Opera (purse 68,000€, 2150 meters autostart, 7–10-year-olds) that went to 7.1/1 Galileo Bello (7m Aldain d’Ecajuel-Aura du Jacquets) timed in 1.12.6kr for pilot Franck Nivard for trainer A.F. Donati-Marcillac and owner Ecurie Marcillac.

He won for the 10^th time in 64 career starts now for 289,450€ earned. The 16/1 Girolamo (7m Uriel Speed) was a close second for owner/trainer/driver Antoine L’herete. 77/1 longshot Disco d’Occagnes (10g Kiwi) was third with Tony LeBeller driving for trainer Fabrice Souloy.

The Prix de Rochechouart (purse 53,000€, 2150 meters autostart for 4–5-year-olds) produced an interesting victory for 2.4/1 Jolie Surprise (4f Prodigious-Discovery Bond) timed in 1.12.5kr. Eric Raffin teamed this Julien Dubois trainee that he also owns, and Jean Philippe Dubois bred.

This was her fifth career win in 21 appearances. The 110/1 outsider Diva del Ronco (4f Varenne-Magic Vision LF) was second a length back and with shoes on with Mario Minopoli Jr. driving for trainer Vitale Ciotola. Jongleuse de Lune (4f Cash And Go) took third for Pierre Yves Verva and owner/trainer Franck Leblanc.
