SUMMERSIDE, PE – The ‘Tiger’ came out to play Sunday afternoon (Jul. 23) at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway as Corey MacPherson bagged five harness racing winners.
The Cornwall reinsman extended his grip on the driving standings as he now sits at 30 wins on the season at Red Shores Summerside. Nicknamed ‘Tiger,’ MacPherson started the action off in race 3 as he steered The Big Chase to victory in 1:57.3 from his own stable.
Race 5 had MacPherson smiling for the camera with Tobins Future in a 1:57 victory for trainer Marvyn Webster. Race 6 was more MacPherson with Silver Spirit victorious in 1:58.4 from the Devon Wallace barn then Brookdale Jim supplied win number four for the driver with a 1:56.2 score from the Phil Sizer stable. His fifth and final win came in race 11 with a front-stepping JJ Breanne in 1:57.4 from the Alan Jones outfit of New Brunswick.
Sauble Attack (Driven by Dale Spence) captured the $3,400 featured pace in 1:55.1 over Frontier Cruise (Ken Murphy) and JJ Patrick (Norris Rogers). Paul Biggar co-owns and trains the winning pacer with Donald Callbeck.
The final dash of the afternoon had driver Kyle Desroche following in his older brother’s footsteps as the Milo resident won with La Vie En Rose for his first career victory in 1:57.1 for owner Leah Ann Moyer. Desroche’s brother Ryan Desroche plies his trade as a catch driver in Central Canada.
