Stash It Away (Pang Shui) past Atlantic Breeders Crown harness racing champion, went wire-to-wire in the Walter Dale Memorial at Woodstock Raceway on Friday (Jul. 28).
The gelding, driven by Mark Haig, left quickest and grabbed the lead in a :28.4 first panel. He then rose to the challenge of Pick A Genre (Michael Downey) nearing the half in :57.1.
Pick A Genre sustained his attack to three-quarters in 1:26.2, and the pair battled into the stretch. Pick A Genre hit his wall at the eighth pole, and Stash It Away produced all he had left and held off a final rush from Mantario (Chris Davies) to win it in 1:55.
Mantario got up for second and missed by three-quarters-of-a-length. Pick A Genre was third.
