A much-determined Pat McGarry A (Million Dollar Cam) and harness racing driver Anthony Napolitano forced his way to the lead and never looked back in capturing the $18,500 feature pace Saturday (July 29) at Pocono Downs.
Mirragon A (Matt Kakaley) was first on the lead in the 10th race feature from post six and led to the first quarter in :26. Then Pat McGarry A, who was already on the move on the outside challenged Mirragon A and took command of the race before the half mile marker in :53.
Holding the field at bay, Pat McGarry A led to the three-quarters in 1:20.4 and once he reached the top of the stretch, he pulled away from the field to win in a romp by five and one-half lengths in 1:49.3. Casual Cool (Ridge Warren) was second with Gentle Giant (Tyler Buter) third.
It was the third straight win for the seven-year-old gelding who is trained by Jenn Bongiorno for owner Howard Taylor. Pat McGarry A paid $2.60 to win.
