Last Bet (Bettor’s Delight – West of LA) and driver Marc St. Louis, Jr. captured the Northville Downs Saturday night (Aug. 5) harness racing feature in 1:53.4 defeating Admiral Adam by one and three-quarters lengths.
Early leaders Lyons Friends (Kody Massey) and Admiral Adam (Justin Irvine) put up fractions of 27.1, 56.1, when Commander Bob (David Lake) came first-up, towing Panther Time and Magic Shark second and third over, respectively, while Last Bet moved fourth over from last to join the fray.
As they accelerated to three-quarters in 1:24.2, the front runners began to tire and Last Bet stormed up on the far outside to get up for the impressive worst to first score. Admiral Adam settled for second while Lyons Friends hung on for third.
The win was the 16th in Last Bet’s career and pushed his career earnings over the $150,000 mark. Last Bet is trained by Danielle St. Louis and owned by Stacey Currie.
