Hanover Raceway was the site for a 10-race card that featured what is considered the tracks premier event for three-year-old Ontario Sired Trotters, the Dream of Glory.
Although The Great Reset (Resolve) won last weekās Dream of Glory elimination, the betting public felt he was not one to wager on as he went off at 18-1 at post time. After winning his elimination trot in 2:00.3, he earned the morning line odds of 7-2. He surprised the bettors and odd makers by going wire-to-wire in victory. He posted a new lifetime mark of 1:57.0 in his fourth lifetime win. Lorne House trains and drives the young gelding and co-owns him with Chantal Ruijis.
House had another driving win in the card, which came in the fifth race with Twentyeight Late (Lyonssomewhere). The four-year-old mare started racing this year and earned six wins. In 20 starts, she has finished in the top-three 16 times. She paced the mile in 1:59.1, which was not good enough to beat her lifetime mark of 1:57.4.
Live harness racing will return to Hanover Raceway on Aug. 19.
