Rifleman captures $10,500 feature at Tioga

Rifleman (Aaron Byron, Betting Line) captures the $10,500 featured harness racing pace on Sunday (Aug. 6) at Tioga Downs.

Orlando Blue A (Marcus Miller) led to the quarter in :28.0.  He used a :29.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.1.  Rifleman ($11.80) took his shot going first-over heading down the backstretch.  Orlando Blue A reached three-quarters first in 1:25.0.

RIFLEMAN REPLAY

Orlando Blue A and Rifleman battled all the way down the stretch.  Vulcan Star N (Tyler Miller) made a late move coming three-wide.  Rifleman got by in deep stretch and won in 1:52.3.  Vulcan Star N was second but was disqualified for interference.  Orlando Blue A received second money.  Western Beachboy (Ridge Warren) was awarded third.

Rifleman is a 5-year-old gelding owned by Patrick Gregory and trained by Mike Watson.  It was his sixth win this season and his 14th career victory.
