You’re So Fine (Always B Miki) capped off two great days for the southern based MCC harness racing syndicate when the four year old gelding won the Listed $30,000 Retravision Marathon Handicap at Gloucester Park in Western Australia on Friday night, for trainer Gary Hall Senior.
Driven by Gary Hall Junior, You’re So Fine led all the way and held on to win the 3309 metre race by just over six metres. It was the horse’s eighth career win.

Purchased and developed by Ryal Bush trainer Brett Gray, You’re So Fine’s biggest New Zealand win was in the Group Two Diamond Creek Farm Two Year Old Classic at Ascot Park in May 2021. His winning time for the 2200 metre mobile of 2-39.6 remains a New Zealand record.
Shortly after that win the syndicate sold the majority share to clients of Hall’s Perth stables, but retained a twenty per cent share.
You’re So Fine missed his entire three year old season with tendon problems and prior to his current preparation he last raced in December 2021. Friday’s win was his fifth in five starts this campaign which commenced on the 17th of July – so he’s raced every weekend.
Meanwhile last Thursday at Winton, Hunting Weight (Stunin Cullen) also owned by the syndicate, scored a well deserved win in the Nevele R Stud Mobile Pace.

It was the five year old mare’s twenty fifth start. She’d previously run six seconds and two thirds, so a win was overdue.
The MCC (Makarewa Country Club) syndicate recently celebrated their 30th anniversary. Current members are Errol Forde (Manager), Bernie Forde, Margaret West, Daryll Hewitson, Ack McLeod, Bob McKay, Mike Booth, Philippa Blackler, Ann Malcolm, Jenny McIvor, John Flynn, Donna Herrick, Brian Butson and Murray Lodge.
