Winning Legends makes memorable Monticello debut

Monticello, NY— In his Monticello Raceway harness racing debut, Winning Legends (Winning Mister) took the $7,200 Open Trot on Wednesday (Aug. 16).

As they left the gate, E R Shane was leading from the outside with Winning Legends speeding up on the inside. Justin Huckabone and Winning Legends were in the lead at the quarter in :29.2. E R Shane followed in second, Brutal Storm in third, and the 3-5 favorite Woodside Emileah on the outside in fourth.

At the half mile :59.1, Winning Legends was still in the lead with pocket sitting E R Shane and Woodside Emileah following closely behind.

Midway around the final turn after the three-quarters in 1:28:1, Winning Legends had the lead by a length and a half over Woodside Emileah with E R Shane on the inside.

Winning Legends took the win, with E R Shane and Woodside Emileah in a tight finish for second and third in 1:57:4. After a review of the photo, E R Shane got second.
