Oh Gouda (Betterthancheddar), an eight-time winner this year, tallied her first win in the Prospect Series on Wednesday (Aug. 16) in leg 4A for three-year-old pacing fillies at Grand River Raceway.
Michael Horner sent her to the front, curtailing a repeat of the fillyās first-up trip last time. Oh Gouda put up splits of :28, :57.3, and 1:26.1, and was in control the whole way. Chocolateforlunch (Anthony Haughan) made a sharp move and tested the winner, but Oh Gouda was two-and-a-half lengths clear and scored in a career-best 1:55.3. Maple (Travis Henry) finished third.
