Once Stormy Kromer (Dejarmbro) and harness racing driver Jason Bartlett made it to the lead there was no turning back as the race favorite won the $36,000 Open Handicap Trot Thursday (Aug. 17) at Yonkers Raceway.
Leaving from post four, Stormy Kromer was the first on the lead with Nows The Moment (Austin Siegelman) sitting the pocket seat to the opening quarter mile in :28.1.
With no one challenging, Stormy Kromer cut the mile to the half in :57.2 before HL Revadon (Yannick Gingras) moved first-over from third place in the backstretch as the field passed the three-quarters in 1:25.3.
Coming around the final turn, Bartlett let out a notch with Stormy Kromer and by the top of the stretch they had a two-length lead on the field and stretched it out to three and one-half lengths at the wire in 1:53.2, the last quarter in :27.4. HL Revadon was second with Nows The Moment third.
STORMY KROMER REPLAY
It was the seventh win of the season for Stormy Kromer, who is trained by Paul Stafford for owner Thomas Ceraso, Jr. He paid $3.40 to win.
