CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Landing on the line just two-fifths shy of the harness racing track record, Chip Of Evil (Arthur Blue Chip) retained her undefeated record on Thursday evening (Aug. 17) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Corey MacPherson supplied the winning steer for the filly in her $11,860 Atlantic Sires Stakes A-division for two-year-old pacing fillies. Eddy Doucette trains the newly minted 1:56.1 winner for owner Inarush Stable of Kensington. Goodmorning Nova (Driven by Gilles Barrieau) was second with Galway Girl (Marc Campbell) third.
CHIP OF EVIL REPLAY
Shesjusmsundrstood (Malicious) won another $11,860 A-division in 1:58 over Fern Hill Indigo (Brodie MacPhee) and Last Chance (Campbell). Jason Hughes trains and drives the winning filly for owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge.
SHESJUSMSUNDERSTOOD REPLAY
The final A-split saw A Girl Named Tom (Shanghai Phil) victorious in 1:59.4 for trainer-driver Paul Langille and owners Rosanne Langille, Debbie Francis and Phonsie MacEachern. Zendayas Firstlady (Hughes) grabbed the deuce with Promise Me Later (David Dowling) third.
A GIRL NAMED TOM REPLAY
The $4,000 B-divisions for two-year-old fillies were won by Elm Grove Support (Shanghai Phil, Ken Murphy) in 2:01.1 and Always Adele (Tobago Cays, Don MacNeill) in 2:01.
Emperor won the Wal and Joe Hennessey Memorial pace in 1:56.2 for driver Hughes and owner-trainer Jeff Lewis of New Brunswick.
