Having only her third start, the filly raced handily throughout and, switched down onto the passing lane, finished with a wet sail to score by a length.

Pinnie’s $28,425 winner’s cheque pushed Volstead’s progeny earnings to $148,552, elevating him to second position on the overall two-year-old sire list and to first among the first-season sires.

He has sired seven individual winners from 12 starters to date.

In North America, Brillantissime’s three-year-old daughter Pure Hope S waltzed away with a $75,000 Consolation of the Delmonica Hanover in 1:54.2 at Pocono Downs, Pennsylvania on Saturday.

Haras Des Trotteurs’ flagship Love You enjoyed another busy week with multiple winners on both sides of the Tasman.

In Australia, Love You was represented by the Melton winner Iron Love, Chicago H NZ (Gloucester Park) and Luvaflair (Pinjarra), while in New Zealand he produced the Addington winners Aroha Kenny (1:59.8) and Outamyway, Jasinova (Auckland) and the Kurow Trotting Cup winner Galleon’s Ambassador.
