Sandoon (Lookslikeachpndale), fresh off a debut harness racing victory, doubled her tally in leg 4A of the Prospect Series on Monday (Aug. 21) at Grand River Raceway.
The filly cut the first-half fractions unhurried, but Chaud Holliday (Ryan Holliday) besieged her as they came down the backstretch. Chaud Holliday took a slight edge at three-quarters and turned for home with the lead, but Sandoon battled her off to take the first division in 2:03.4. The Blondy passed Chaud Holliday in the stretch for third.
SANDOON REPLAY
Sandoon, trained by John Holding, rallied from fourth to win on debut in leg 3B of the Prospect Series on Aug. 13. Holding co-owns the filly with Morley Bosomworth of Elora.
Muscle Charm wired the second Prospect Series group for her first career victory. She held off pocket-sitter Graceful China (Jason Ryan) and Melissas Day (Keith Jones) in the stretch to break her maiden in 2:05.3. The latter two finished second and third, respectively.
MUSCLE CHARM REPLAY
Muscle Charm made her first two starts in the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots, finishing fifth and sixth. She then dropped to the third-tier Prospect Series for new connections on Aug. 6, owners Paul and Jayme Cameron, and finished third and fourth in legs 3A and 3B. Cameron trains the filly, who is now one-for-five lifetime with $7,124.
The Prospect Series for two-year-old trotting fillies will continue with leg 4B at Grand River on Aug. 28.
The trackās next card is set for Wednesday, Aug. 23. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. EDT.
