Trotting harness racing action is gaining momentum at Paris-Vincennes as we move toward their famous winter meet. This day there were three interesting races beginning with the Prix d’Abbeville (purse 59,000€, 2700 meters, 13 monte starters ages 7-10 years). Here the 1.11.9kr timed winner was 3.7/1 Good Girl Marceaux (7f Jag de Bellouet-Iane Fortuna) with jockey Alexandre Abrivard in the irons.
Pierre Vercruysse trains the winner for breeder/owner Cedric Brun as the winner recorded her 10th career victory in 55 starts for 223,920€ earned. Second was 3/1 Fast Cash (8g Ready Cash-Armeniade) with Mathieu Mottier the trainer and jockey for breeder/owner Beatrix Andreani. 19/1 Dahlia du Pont (10g Saphir d’Haufor) was third with Nathalie Henry aboard.
In the featured Prix de Beaune (purse 68,000€, 2700 meters, 15 starters aged 7-10 years) the 9/10 odds favorite Gendreen (7g Boccador de Simm-Miss Gendrenne) scored in 1.13.3kr teamed with Alexandre Abrivard for trainer L. C. Abrivard and owner Philippe Grumetz. This winner now has 15 wins in 62 starts for 291,420€ earned. Ghostbuster (7g Niky) was next at 15/1 for driver Yoann Lebourgeois and trainer Severine Raimond. 5.3/1 Galileo Bello (7m Aladin d’Ecajeul) was third for pilot Franck Nivard and trainer/owner Anne Francis Donati-Marcillac.
Ipalio (5m Django Riff-Urosida) took the Prix du Perigord (purse 60,000€, 2850 meters, 14 starters aged 5-6 years) timed in 1.13.1kr at 10/1 odds with P. Y. Verva driving for breeder/owner Alphonse Vanberghen as he won for third time in his career for 147,365€ earned. 13/1 odds Dollar Doc (6g Ready Cash-Gill Star) was second for Alexandre Abrivard and even money favorite Cobra Killer Gar (5g Readly Express-Lady Killer Gar) was third with Gabriele Gelormin driving this H. E. Bondo trainee.
Coming up on August 26th at Cagnes sur Mer is the Grand Prix de Department des Alpes, a Gr. II International test for 180,000€ purse and raced over 1609 meters autostart. The lineup includes Go On Boy, Capital Mail, Bepi Bi, Bleff Dipa and Eclat de Gloire.
