Monticello, NY— Betting Hannah (Betting Line) used the passing lane to capture $5,400 featured harness racing pace at Monticello Raceway on Monday afternoon (Sept. 11).
Driver-trainer Thomas Merton and Betting Hannah were the first to leave the gate alongside Lookintomyeyes (Mcgwire Sowers). Lady Warrior came rushing up to steal the lead, leaving Betting Hannah in second and Lookintomyeyes in third as they passed the quarter mile in :28.2.
As they came by the stand for the first time, Lady Warrior was still in the lead, with pocket trip Betting Hannah following in second. From the outside, Fern Paquet Jr and Icarus Falls N started to make their way to the front. They passed the half-mile mark in :58.3.
Jim Taggart Jr and Lady Warrior were holding onto the lead, with Icarus Falls N continuing to press from the outside. Betting Hannah was in third at the three-quarter mile mark in 1:26.4.
Moving around the final turn, it was a battle between Lady Warrior on the inside and Icarus Falls N on the outside for the lead. Betting Hannah flew down the passing lane at the last second to steal the win in 1:56.2. Lady Warrior finished in second and Icarus Falls N came in third.

Betting Hannah, a 4-year-old mare, is owned by Joseph Di Francesco. She paid $19.80 to win.
