Two-year old harness racing trotteurs are in action in France today (Sept. 12) at Paris-Vincennes. The Prix Erato (purse 33,000€, 2200 meters voltstart, 11 two-year olds at the start) began the action and 2.5/1 Lemon Tree (2m Face Time Bourbon-Divine Jet-Goetmals Wood) scored in 1.17.0kr.
This William Bigeon trainee is owned by Joel Seche and was bred by Ecurie Hunter Valley. This was his initial victory in now two starts for 14,850€ earned. The 47/1 Lucas Davril (2m Password-Toundra d’Enghien) was second for Franck Ouvrie driving for breeder/owner/trainer Alexandre Lebourgeois. Lanister d’Avril (2m Ecu Pierji) was third for driver Antoine Michel[-Possey at 17/1 odds.
On September 10 at Caen was the Prix des Zinnias (purse 15,000€, 2200 meters autostart, 10 starters) and the victory went to 3.8/1 Liza Josselyn (2f Ready Cash-Belina Josselyn-Love You) timed in 1.16.9kr. Romain Congard teamed the Jean Michel Bazire trainee for breeder/owner Yvan Bernard. This was her first start for money, after a 1.18.5kr qualifier, and was much anticipated as she is the daughter of Prix d’Amerique champion Belina Josselyn. Belina was a winner 23 times in 74 starts for 2,686,170€ earned.
She also won the Prix de Paris twice, in 2019 and 2020. This day Liza Josselyn closed from the clouds to earn the win. The 8/10 favorite Lovely du Vallon (2f Bird Parker-Perle du Vallon-Goetmals Wood) was second with Eric Raffin driving for Ecurie Hunter Valley and trainer Tomas Malmqvist. Lord des Fanes (2m Doberman) was a solid third.
Watch for both of these winners as their careers develop.
