Three batterias (eliminations) took place this day at Roma Capannelle, each carrying a 22,000€ purse and raced over 1640 meters autostart for the Oaks del Trotto (three year old females).
In the first batteria the 2,6/1 odds Ete Jet (3f Maharajah-Love Me Tender-Supergill) scored in 1.12.3kr, the fastest of the elims. Her dam has already produced Tessy d’Ete (320,000€ winner) and Bengurion Jet (358,000€) and third in the recent Yonkers International. Antonio Simioli teamed this impressive winner that defeated 18.3/1 Euphoria Bi (3f Donato Hanover-Inside Bi-Lemon Dra) with Andrea Guzzinati aboard. The 2.8/1 odds Esperia CR (3f Ready Cash-Tentation Ans-Muscles Yankee) was third for Santo Mollo and owner Jean Pierre Dubois.
In the second elim the 2.5/1 odds Eleonor di Poggio (3f Trixton-Upland Kronos-Joke Face) scored from post three using front-end tactics engineered by driver G.P. Minnucci. She prevailed by a nose in a three horse photo defeating 10.9/1 Emily LP (3f Maharajah-Giorgia LP-Pine Chip) reined by Guzzinati and 10.7/1 Elodi’ Mabel (3f Nad Al Sheba-Margie Prav) with Antonio Di Nardo driving. Race time was 1.13.2kr. Well regarded Erica Jet was seventh at 4.8/1 and Esperia Font finished eighth at 7.3/1.
In the third elim the 2.4/1 odds Elettra d’Esi (3f Nad Al Sheba-Primula d’Esi-Faliero As) scored by a half-length timed in 1.13.2kr. Enrico Baldi teamed the front stepping winner from post six. Eiffel FI (3f Exploit Caf-Sile del Rio-Varenne) was second for Antonio Simioli at 4.4/1 from post four while 6.2/1 Esterel GI (3f Vivid Wise As-Lovely Fame-Varenne) captured third money at 6.2/1 odds for reinsman Andrea Guzzinati. The second dam of this one is Wesgate Fame, a full sister to legendary Wesgate Crown that was a 1991 foal.
The Oaks finale shapes up to be a very competitive event.
