Monticello, NY—Jacked (Muscle Mass) captured the harness racing victory in the $7,200 Open Trot at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 20).
Out of the gate, Bully Boy (Jim Taggart Jr) took the early lead, with Jacked (Jim Devaux) following on the inside in second. Chaperidge (Michael Merton) was trotting in third. Bully Boy had a length-and-a-quarter over Jacked as they passed the quarter mile in :28.3.
Bully Boy was still in the lead with pocket trip Jacked following closely in second at the half mile mark in :58. Chaperidge followed in third. Bully Boy was still leading the way, with Jacked closing in. A gap of four lengths back, Chaperidge was on the inside in third. The favorite Cinnamon Stick (Gregory Merton) was moving up as they passed the three-quarter mile mark in 1:27.1.
Midway around the final turn, Jim Devaux and Jacked looked to make their move from the outside, coming up to challenge Bully Boy for the lead. Jacked stole the lead right before they crossed the wire in 1:57.3. Bully Boy came in second and Raceace (Brandon Parker) finished in third.

Jacked is a 4-year-old gelding owned by Vogel & Wags Nags LLC and Dr. Michael Miller. Charles Poynton is his trainer. He paid $7.60 to win.
