Charlottetown, PE – The Atlantic Breeders Crown Host Committee is pleased to announce the four Atlantic Canadian harness racing families who will be honoured for their achievements and contributions to the industry.

The four families will be honoured during the upcoming Atlantic Breeders Crown Weekend at Red Shores Charlottetown on October 7-8th.

The Campbell family from Charlottetown, PE will be recognized for their long association with harness racing. Brothers John “Buddy”, Winston “Soupy” and Sanford Campbell and a second generation consisting of Drew, Heath and Brandon have left their mark at racetracks across North America.

The Baird family (Hugh Sr. and sons Dr. Hugh and Sandy) will be the honourees from Newfoundland and Labrador while the Beaton family (brothers John William, Donald Francis and Anthony) from Port Hood, Nova Scotia, will be recognized for their many successes.

From New Brunswick, the family of the late Art and Shirley Davidson will be recognized for their decades of involvement.

Presentations to each of the four families will take place at the Atlantic Breeders Crown banquet at the ‘Top of the Park’ at Red Shores Charlottetown on Saturday, October 7.

Memorabilia from each of the four families will be on display in the ‘Memory Lane’ area at the CDP.
