The 5.2/1 odds Je M’Envole (4m Joyau d’Amour-Virevoltante-Love You) sat outside the harness racing leaders and then vaulted to the lead in late stretch to win the Gr. I monte Pris des Elites (purse 240,000€m 2175 meters voltstart, four-year olds) with trainer Mathieu Mottier in the irons Sunday (Sept. 24) at Vincennes.
Jean Pierre Dubois owns the now four-time winner in 18 total starts (monte and sulky) of 217,860€ earned. Dubois and team had trained this one through 2022 and raced to sulky and monte where he made five monte starts with two wins.
He has two wins and a second this year for Mottier in four starts racing monte. The winning sire is a son of Vikings Way he by Mickey Viking by Bonefish. The 4/10 favorite Jean Balthazar (4m Alto de Viette-Dynamite des Vaux) set the pace and held second with Alexandre Abrivard the jockey for trainer Pascal Castel and owner Sandrine Loncke. Jane Aimee (4f Pascal du Pont) took third at 21/1 odds for jockey David Thomain and 11/1 Jaguar du Goutier (4m Ready Cash) was fourth with trainer Damien Bonne in the irons. Race time was a sharp 1.10.6kr.
The co-featured Gr. III monte Prix Georges Dreux (purse 90,000€, 2850 meters distance handicap, six- to 10-year-olds) showcased a 1.12.8kr timed victory by 3.5/1 Granit Meslois (7g Shadow d’Odyssee-Sexy Mesloise) with Victor Saussaye the jockey for trainer Pierre Belloche and Ecurie B. Granit recorded his eighth career win in 79 starts now for 374,430€ earned.
Filwell (8g Qwerty-Regence) at 2/1 tracked the leaders and closed stoutly to be a close second for jockey Camille Levesque and owner/trainer/breeder Pierre Levesque. Hirondelle du Rib (6f Rolling d’Heripre) was third at 4.6/1 for jockey J.L.Cl. Dersoir and trainer Joel Hallais. Happy And Lucky (6f Ready Cash) was third at 26/1 with Adrien Lamy aboard this Franck Leblanc trainee.
