Gaspar d’Angis wins GNT Leg 11

Today’s 11^th leg of the Grand National du Trot (Gr. III, purse 90,000€, 2675 meters. 16 starters) took place at Le Mont-Saint-Michel. The 3.1/1 odds Gaspar d’Angis (7g Quaro-Reveuse d’Angis-Korean) rallied down the 600 meter stretch to score in a record 1.11.4kt.

Eric Raffin teamed this J.M. Baudoin owned and trainer campaigner that now shows 14 wins in 56 career starts for 482,160€ earned. He has nearly 280,000€ earned this year and now has 104 points in the GNT series versus 94 for Horace du Goutier and 32 for Howdy Partner. The next GNT leg is set for October 18 at Reims.

Finishing second this day was 29/1 Fanatic Flash (8g Offshore Dream-Only One Night-Defi d’Anou_ with David Tbomain at the lines for owner/trainer J.P. Raffegeau. Goutte du Houlbest (7f Rossini des Jipec-Unite du Houlbet) ended third for Alexis Prat and trainer Frederic Prat at 26/1 odds. Gaelic du Rocher (7g Uniclove) was fourth at 13/1  for Benjamin Rochard followed by 24/1 odds Inexcess Bleu (5g Vittel de Breval) and Alexandre Abrivard.

Yesterday two year olds were on stage at Jagersro (purse 6,700€, 1640 meters voltstart) with the well-bred youngsters yielding to the winning 2.9/1 odds Vasterbo Gute ( 2m Gotland-Fabrication) timed in 1.15.9kr with trainer Per Nordstrom aboard. The 3/1 Far Wise As (2m Face Time Bourbon-Temple Blue Chip-Cantab Hall), a half-brother to champion Vivid Wise As, was a game second for driver Johan Untersteiner and trainer Jerry Riordan. Third was 5.4/1 Las Vega (2f Greenshoe-Gazelle Am-Soouthwind Spirit) for Dante Kolgjini and trainer Adrian Kolgjini, ahead of 20/1 Fenice Degli Dei (2d International Moni-Onda Deglu Dei) handled by Vincent Rosleff for trainer Riordan. Onda Degli Dei is a daughter of Windsong’s Legacy-Donnina, with Donnina the dam of Zagabria Dei, she the dam of Lisa America, Radysin America and OK America among others from the Lou Guida breeding legacy in Italy.
