Philadelphia, PA— Brue Hanover (Stay Hungry, Joe Bongiorno, $3.60), Muskateer Hanover (Sweet Lou, David Miller, $3.20), and Sir Issac Newton (Captaintreacherous, Todd McCarthy, $27.20) won their respective $30,000 harness racing divisions of the Liberty Bell Stakes for 3-year-old colts and geldings at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Friday (Oct. 13).
In the first Liberty Bell Stakes pace, Brue Hanover took the early lead, with Captain Batboy (Andrew McCarthy) following in second. As they reached the quarter mile in :28, Brue Hanover had the lead by a length.
Tip Top Cat (David Miller) rushed to the front from the outside, stealing the lead from Brue Hanover as they passed the half mile in :55.3.
Captain Batboy moved up to steal the lead from Tip Top Cat. Captain Batboy had the lead by a length as they passed the three-quarter mile in 1:23.2. Girldad (Todd McCarthy) battled Tip Top Cat for second.
As they made their way down the stretch, Brue Hanover rushed to the front from the outside, crossing the wire first in 1:51.3. A head back, Girldad finished in second and Tip Top Cat came in third.
BRUE HANOVER REPLAY
Brue Hanover, a 3-year-old gelding, is trained by Ron Burke and owned by Bradley Grant.
Muskateer Hanover went for the early lead in the second Liberty Bell Stakes pace of the day. As they made their way around the first turn, Full Support (Todd McCarthy) stole the lead, leaving Muskateer Hanover in the pocket spot in second. They passed the half mile in :26.4.
Full Support had the lead by a length over Muskateer Hanover. Binge On Yankee (Joe Bongiorno) was racing in third as they passed the half mile in :56.1. From the outside, Trumpster Blues (Simon Allard) rushed to battle Muskateer Hanover for second as they passed the three-quarter mile in 1:23.3.
At the top of the stretch, Muskateer Hanover moved to the front from the outside, crossing the wire first in 1:51.4, a head ahead of Binge On Yankee. Full Support finished in third.
MUSKSTEER HANOVER REPLAY
Muskateer Hanover, a 3-year-old gelding, is trained by Ron Burke for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC, James Simpson, Bridgette Jablonsky, and Wingfield Five LLC.
In the last Liberty Bell Stakes pace of the day, All Class (Andrew McCarthy) took the early lead. From the outside, Larceny (Joe Bongiorno) stole the lead, leaving All Class in second and Ricardoshilyshally (Troy Beyer) racing in third as they passed the first quarter in :27.2 and the half mile in :55.4.
Larceny had the lead by a length over All Class as they made their way down the backstretch. From the outside, Sir Issac Newton moved to the front to pass the leader as they made their way past the three-quarter mile in 1:23.3.
Sir Issac Newton was holding on to the lead. All Class passed Larceny to steal second. Sir Issac Newton crossed the wire in 1:51.3, a head ahead of All Class. Larceny came in third.
