Two groupe level monte tests highlighted tonight’s Paris-Vincennes program.

The 2.7/1 Ina du Rib (6f Uhan du Val-Tina du Rob) was second for legendary trainer Joel Hallais and jockey J.L.Cl. Dersoir. The third finishing Ies We Kan was a dq and that moved up 10/1 In Love du Choqyel (5n Carat Williams-Star du Choquel) to third money. The 7.4/1 Ines des Rioults (5f Carat Williams-Nelly des Rioults) was placed fourth and placed fifth was Its My Dream (5m Royal Dream—Area des Jacquets). Note that the winner’s dam North America was a winner of 525,570€ with a 1.11.3kr clocking. This is another classic Jean Pierre Dubois pedigree, she being by And Arifant from Horsaca (Buvetier d’Aunou-Casa Work-Workaholic-Slave). Slave produced Dance Marathon 361,000€, Kildare Wood 271,000€ and the mare Hungarie that foaled Slave Dream (USD 871,280 and 1:52.0 over the Meadowlands mile.
In the Prix Gordonia (Gr. III monte, purse 90,000€, 2850 meters voltstart, 15 European 6-10 year olds at the start) the 1.1/1 odds favorite Fillwell (8g Qwerty-Regence) was an open lengths winner for jockey Camille Levesque for breeder/owner/trainer Pierre Levesque.
The winner now has 17 career wins in 65 starts for 514,810€. Race time was a sharp 1.12.0kr for the aggressively handled winner that rushed to the front, yielded and retook the front to end the story. Another superb job by jockey Camille Levesque. Figaro de Larre (8g Royal Dream-Tornado Mika) was second at 8.1/1 odds with Benjamin Rochard the jockey for breeder/trainer Sylvain Roger and Ecurie la Petteviniere. Third was 15/1 Esperanza Idole (9f Quido du Goutier-Fan Idole) with J.Y. Ricart aboard for trainer Noel Langlois. Django du Bocage (10g Real de Lou) and Fine Perle Of Love (8f Theo Josselyn) completed the top five. Note, the aforementioned mare Fan Idole (2002, Le Ham-Ton Idole) won 37 times in 89 starts for 2,184,369€ for Richard William Denechere, that her major wins included the Trot Mondial over Varenne, Prix de France, Prix de Belgique and Prix de Bretagne.
