Dual coded Driscoll

Few stables have enjoyed the level of dual coded success in Victoria as Yabby Dam Farms.

The Ballarat based outfit, headed up by principle Pat Driscoll, has beaten a path to the winner’s stall at metropolitan level in both harness racing and thoroughbred racing this year.

Yabby Dam Farms success in both breeding and racing trotters has been well documented in recent years however this year has seen the blue and red silks emerge victorious on the state’s metropolitan race tracks with a burgeoning regularity.

Yabby Dam Farms thoroughbred muster has been headed by the talented Ciaron Maher and David Eustice trained mare Cardigan Queen who has chalked up wins at Caulfield and Sandown in two of her past four starts.

The six-year-old former New Zealand Archie Alexander prepared Donatrice scored back to back wins at Geelong and Caulfield in September.

Saturday May 27 was a red letter day for Yabby Dam Racing when it landed its first metropolitan double with Axzelina and Cardigan Queen both saluting at Sandown.

The effort of Axzelina was full of merit as the daughter of Snitzel, who was having her first race start, was headed in the home straight before fighting back to score by a short head.

Earlier in this year the Yabby Dam Farms owned mare No Way Ever notched up her third metropolitan success when she scored at Sandown.
