Harness racing driver Doug McNair reached $80 million in career earnings on Monday (Oct. 16) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Now in his 15th year of racing, he reached the milestone with a win, three place finishes, and two other cheque-getting results. McNair has won 4,428 of his 25,600 lifetime starts. He won his debut on Feb. 22, 2008 and has the National Driving Championship twice, including last yearās edition. He was also Canada’s 2017 Driver of the Year.
Fashion Frenzie (Archangel) captured the nightās $35,000 Preferred in a gate-to-wire effort. The gelding carved out a cushion in a :27.2 first panel, reached the half in :56, and began to battle with the pocket-popping Amigo Volo (McNair) at three-quarters in 1:25.1. Amigo Volo narrowed the gap to a half-length but couldnāt bring down Fashion Frenzie, who repelled him to score by a length in 1:52.3.

Fashion Frenzie has won 24 of 39 career starts and has earned $1,158,787. The gelding, trained by Richard Moreau, attempted the International Trot earlier this year after a fourth-place finish in the Maple Leaf Trot. He also won the Earl Rowe Invitational and is six-for-11 on the year for owners Ecurie Francis Richard, Pierre Guillemette, and Sylvain Richard of Becancour and Mario Bourgea of Stanbridge East.
Woodbine Mohawk Park will race next on Thursday, Oct. 19.
