Kobayashi takes Prix Arethusa at Vincennes

Kobayashi (3m Face Time Bourbon-Come On Jet-Goetmals Wood) took the Prix Arethusa (purse 62,000€, 2700 meters for three-year-olds) at Paris-Vincennes on Tuesday (Oct. 17).

David Thomain was the winning harness racing pilot at 6.4/1 odds for breeder/owner Ecurie Hunter Valley and trainer Tomas Malmqvist. Kobayashi now has four victories in 11 career starts for 90,620€ earned.

The 22/1 Kool And The Gang (3m Ready Cash-Conga-Goetmals Wood) was second handled by Romain Derieux for trainer H.E. Bondo and Bruni Racing Team AB. Third home was 8/1 Keep Your Dreams (3m Follow You-Dream Life-Royal Dream) reined by breeder Jean Philippe Dubois for his Ecurie Victoria Dreams and trainer Philippe Moulin. Kassidy Kid (3m Goetmals Wood-Blanche Mencourt-Ready Cash) was third with Gabriele Gelormini aboard for Stall Rita and trainer H.E. Bondo. The 1.8/1 favorite Kaporal des Forges (3m Face Time Bourbon) finished seventh.

In the Prix Algorah (purse 59,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 6–10-year-olds) the 5/10 odds favorite Cicero TG (6m Kadabra-Artisane-Lindy Lane) scored in 1.11.0kr with trainer Jean Michel Bazire at the lines for owner C.T. Gundersen. The winner recorded his first win in FR in his first start while advancing his career earnings to 268,532€.

The 28/1 Zinka Top (8m Verenne-Eggental) was second for Gabriele Gelormini driving for trainer Fabrice Souloy and owner Salvatore Lovene. Historire Moderne (6g Prodigious-Tender Nighgt-Lets Go Along) took third at 19/1 with Jean Philippe Dubois driving the Philippe Moulin trainee.
