CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The top harness racing two-year-olds in Atlantic Canada will meet Sunday (Oct. 22) afternoon in the Home Hardware Maritime Breeders Stake at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The 14-dash program will start at a pushed back 2 P.M. post time due to expected heavy rains overnight and early in the morning.

The first $17,500 Home Hardware Maritime Breeder’s division for two-year-old fillies hits the track in race 2. U No Peach (To be driven by Ken Murphy) is the favourite in that dash for trainer Jeff Holmes and owner Hardcore Racing of Belfast.

Chip Of Evil will look to add to her six wins and two seconds from eight lifetime starts in her $17,500 division in race 6 with Corey MacPherson in the seat from post 5 for trainer Eddy Doucette and owner Inarush Stable of Kensington.

The final division for fillies is in race 10 with Goodmorning Nova riding a three-race win streak with rail control for driver Gilles Barrieau, trainer Dwane MacEachern and owners Melissa Banks and Jason Williams.

The $17,500 Home Hardware Maritime Breeder’s for two-year-old pacing colts starts in race 4. Tobins Chester is favoured in that dash from post 5 for trainer-driver Jason Hughes and owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge.

Jackies Boy gets top call in his $17,500 colt division in race 8 for owner-trainer Myles Heffernan Jr., and driver Myles Heffernan Sr.

In the last division in race 12 Merigo Magic (Adam Merner) is the morning line favourite with post 4 from the Melissa Rennie barn for owners Mike May, Herman Mcquaid, Derrick Cameron and Ian Walker.

The $3,800 Preferred Pace lines up in race 13 with Twin B Tuffenuff (Barrieau) off the rail from the Ron Matheson barn.
