Bluesville (Huntsville) and harness racing driver Frank Affrunti snuck along inside in the stretch to capture the $8,500 featured pace on Saturday (October 21) at Vernon Downs.
Bluesville ($5.80) blasted out of the gate and took the early lead.Ā Le Masif (Steeven Genois) took control just before hitting the first quarter first in :27.2.Ā Stewardoftheland (Claude Huckabone Jr.) came first-up to challenge as Le Masif led to the half in :57.0.Ā Le Masif continued to lead and hit three-quarters first in 1:25.4.
As they made the turn for home Bluesville found an opening on the inside and fought with Le Masif all the way down the stretch.Ā Old Pal (Truman Gale) and Major Leaguer (Jimmy Whittemore) came charging late.Ā Bluesville got there first in 1:55.4.Ā Le Masif had to settle for second.Ā Old Pal finished third.
Bluesville is a 4-year-old gelding is owned by Big Sky Ranch and trained by Michelle Warner.Ā It was his fourth win this season.Ā He now has 12 career victories.
