Monticello, NY— Some Deal Hanover (American Ideal, Bruce Aldrich Jr) won the $6,500 Open harness racing event at Monticello Raceway on Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 24).
Trevor’s Ace (Jim Devaux) took the early lead from the middle of the track with Prophet Blue Chip (Joseph Chindano Jr) following from the inside. From the outside, the favorite Some Deal Hanover began to rush up, taking the lead as they passed the first quarter mile in :27.3.
As they passed the half mile in :56.3, Some Deal Hanover led the way, with Trevor’s Ace following in second and Prophet Blue Chip racing in third.
Moving around the clubhouse turn, Some Deal Hanover was leading, with pocket trip Trevor’s Ace in second. Indictable Hanover (Gregory Merton) started to move to the front from the outside as they passed the three-quarter mile in 1:25.
Some Deal Hanover crossed the wire in 1:53.3, three lengths ahead of Trevor’s Ace. Prophet Blue Chip came in third.

Some Deal Hanover is a 5-year-old gelding trained by Laura Aldrich for owners Rick Howles and John Hallett. He paid $4.00 to win.
