CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – With nothing but pylons to his inside, Mr Rielly (Steelhead Hanover) will look to close out the harness racing program Saturday afternoon (Oct. 28) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The city track has 14-dashes with a 12:30 P.M. opening post time.
Mr Rielly has drawn post 1 in the race 14 finale with the hot hands of Corey MacPherson at the lines from his own Charlottetown stable for owners Jim Gorman and Darlene Compton. He is a 15-time winner in his career including a 1:54.2 career best on Sept. 30 at Red Shores Charlottetown. Woodmere Sheldon (To be driven by Jason Hughes) is the morning line favourite from post 2 while former James (Roach) MacGregor Gold Cup and Saucer consolation winner Avatar J has post 3 with David Dowling driving for trainer Darren Smith.
Also in the competitive $2,600 dash are Leavin Bruises (Brodie MacPhee), Poplar Artie (Marc Campbell), Redwhiteandboots (Ken Murphy), Imalookertoo (Gilles Barrieau) and Hippyjohn (Kenny Arsenault).
The Post Time Picks like Mr Rielly on top.
“Mr Rielly was a winner four back at this level from post 1. MacPherson has been on quite a roll lately so I think they take the pocket ride to victory.”
Race 3 is the Joyriders Pace with Doc Darryl (Colin Sheppard) the top selection from post 3 for trainer Morgan Sheppard.
The $3,500 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace is in race 9 with Acefortyfourdome as the top choice fresh off a victory at this level her last start for trainer-driver Hughes and owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge. Her main competitors are slated as Share The Moment (Barrieau) and Chelski (MacPherson).
Time To Dance is favoured in the race 13 $3,800 Preferred Pace for driver Marc Campbell, trainer and co-owner Brent Campbell and co-owners Brady Doyle, Ryan MacLeod and Kent MacDonald.
