Monticello, NY— Cinnamon Stick (Jailhouse Jesse, Gregory Merton) won the $6,500 Open harness racing trot at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 1).
By A Hoff Hanover (Jim Devaux) left the gate first, followed by Cinnamon Stick. E R Shane (Bruce Aldrich Jr) was racing in third as they passed the first quarter mile in :29.
By A Hoff Hanover had the lead by a length over Cinnamon Stick as they came by the stand for the first time. They passed the half mile mark in :58.3.
From the outside, Backstreet Player (Michael Merton) began to challenge Cinnamon Stick for second as they passed the three-quarter mile in 1:28.
At the top of the stretch, Cinnamon Stick made a move from the passing lane, stealing the lead from the inside and crossing the wire first in 1:58.4. E R Shane finished a head behind in second and Chip Chip Conway (Jim Taggart Jr) came in third.

Cinnamon Stick is an 8-year-old gelding owned by Michael Mulligan and trained by Gregory Decker. He paid $5.20 to win.
