WASHINGTON, PA, Nov. 1, 2023 — Dismissed at 43-1, Swan Legacy (Swan For All-Ladylike Volo) converted a pocket trip to victory and pulled off the shocker in Wednesday’s harness racing feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $15,900 Conditioned Trot.
Big Boy Ernest fronted the mile and was strong enough to turn back the outside challengers. But as the field turned for home and the Lightning Lane beckoned, Swan Legacy used his pocket trip to perfection, kicking by Big Boy Ernest and defeating him by 1-3/4 lengths for driver Jack Killeen in 1:54.2 over a “good” surface. The first-over Parshall finished third.
Todd Keith owns and trains Swan Legacy, a 6-year-old gelding who now boasts a career bankroll of $212,301. He paid $89.20 to win.
Jeremy Indof, Hunter Myers, Koltin Noble and Dave Palone joined trainers Ron Burke and Keith with doubles on the 13-race card.
